There is now ample and robust evidence that green infrastructure is good for people’s health. How can we plan, design and manage green spaces to maximise their value to people’s health and wellbeing? How can we improve the health and wellbeing value of existing green spaces? What do we know – and what do we still need to research?

This one-day seminar, organised by the Outdoor Recreation Network, will look at the changing nature of monitoring participation in outdoor recreation. It is aimed at researchers, analysts, academics and policy makers from across the Outdoor Recreation Sector.

The seminar will cover three main themes

  • Changes to national policy and strategy – and how that influences ‘what’ we want to monitor (for example measuring levels of physical activity or economic expenditure).

The ITRC-MISTRAL research programme has arrived at a critical milestone in the development of infrastructure systems analysis. During its first five years, ITRC developed NISMOD, the UK’s first National Infrastructure Systems MODel, integrating energy, transport, digital, water and waste systems analysis.

LowCVP’s 2018 "Moving North" Conference is held in association with the Mayor of Greater Manchester, the Northern Automotive Alliance and Transport for Greater Manchester. It is supported by Manchester Metropolitan University.

The event, opening with a keynote address by the Mayor of Greater Manchester, Andy Burnham, will focus on the challenge of cutting carbon emissions and air pollution and seizing the business opportunities for automotive and fuel supply companies in the Northern Powerhouse that are being stimulated by the low carbon shift.

Debating Nature's Value Conference 2018
